We Regret To Announce We Must Cancel This Year’s Show

News

Dear Friends of the Steve McQueen Car and Motorcycle Show,

Over the last thirteen years the Steve McQueen Car and Motorcycle Show has been a pillar of support for the Boys Republic, helping to create an environment for the public to know and understand the benefit of supporting this event and school. You have been a driving force in helping these young men become successful and responsible for their own selves, as the motto of the school so well describes, “Nothing Without Labor.” We truly appreciate the support, you the public, car enthusiast, and sponsors have put forth in making this event one of the most popular car shows in Southern California.

Unfortunately, we have come to the conclusion that we must cancel this year’s event due to the COVID-19 Virus and the state’s health advisories for “social gatherings.”

Even though we had tentatively planned to re-schedule to Labor Day weekend, with all the unknown of how things would be by then, there isn’t enough time for us to put on the type of show you have been accustomed to.

If you have already pre-registered for the show or sent in sponsorship money, we will happily carry it forward to next year’s show or refund your money. If you’d like to receive a refund, please send an email to Boys Republic at carshow@boysrepublic.org and they’ll process it for you. Certainly, it was our hope that things would have been better by this time and that everyone’s health would not be in question.

We do hope you and your family haven’t been affected by the virus and will look forward to joining us next year as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Le Mans, June 5th and 6th of 2021.

As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions or suggestions. We do this event as a team of volunteers and are always appreciative of input and support.

Sincerely,

Ron Harris
